Kathmandu: The logo and mascot for the upcoming 10th National Games were officially unveiled on Tuesday at a special event organized at the International Sports Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur. The Games are scheduled to take place from May 17 in Surkhet, Karnali Province.

During the ceremony, Minister for Youth and Sports and Chairperson of the National Sports Council (NSC), Tejulal Chaudhary, released the official logo of the Games. NSC Vice Chairperson Dhruba Acharya made the mascot public, while NSC Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising launched the dedicated website for the 10th National Games.

The logo features several symbolic elements representing both the spirit of sportsmanship and the diversity of Nepal. It includes the Karnali River, which flows through the host province, along with depictions of all seven provinces. It also showcases Nepal’s varied landscapes—mountains, hills, and the Tarai—alongside sportspersons in dynamic action poses. A pigeon, symbolizing peace and unity, is also integrated into the design.

The mascot for this edition of the Games is the Red Panda, an endangered animal native to Karnali Province. The choice of the Red Panda highlights the region’s rich biodiversity and aims to raise awareness about the conservation of this rare species.

Speaking at the event, Minister Chaudhary praised the ongoing preparations in Karnali Province and emphasized the need for unity to ensure the success of the national sporting event. He called on everyone to focus on the greater interests of sports and athletes and to work together to make the 10th National Games a grand success.

The 10th National Games are expected to be a significant and inclusive celebration of athletic talent from across Nepal, bringing together participants and spectators from all corners of the country.
